Kim K Cries About Paris Robbery In Emotional Interview: ‘It Was Meant To Happen’

It has been just about six months since Kim Kardashian was infamously robbed at gunpoint in her apartment in Paris, an event that understandably was a whirlwind for the mega-star.

Noticeably disappearing from social media for weeks afterwards, and only recently revealing more details on “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” Kim sat down with family friend Ellen DeGeneres to talk about the aftermath and how it’s changed her life.

Her biggest takeaway from the experience? Everything happens for a reason.

Kim told Ellen,

I know this sounds crazy, but I know that was meant to happen to me. I don’t want to start crying, but I know that was so meant to happen to me. I’m such a different person. I really feel like things happen in your life to teach you things.
She went on to explain how in the past, she would proudly show off the material items she knows she has worked hard for and — being careful to distinguish there is nothing wrong with that kind of attitude — says it’s just not a priority of hers anymore.

I was definitely materialistic before, not that there’s anything bad with having things and working hard to get those things and I’m really proud of everyone around me that’s successful. But, I’m so happy that my kids get this me and that this is who I’m raising my kids [to be]. Because I just don’t care about that stuff anymore, I really don’t.
Additionally, Kim revealed that in speaking with authorities, she learned a great deal more about the robbers themselves.

Mainly, they had been monitoring and following the reality star and her jewelry for a shocking two years.

It’s not to say that I’ll never wear jewelry again or anything like that. I truly don’t know if I’d ever feel comfortable, I truly don’t know if I’d ever wear real jewelry again. My whole life has changed in terms of how I travel…
Since the horrific incident, Kim and her whole family have upticked their security, and Kim now sleeps with multiple security guards outside of her bedroom.

Incredibly, Kim also described some of the clarity she had during the actual robbery, and how she was able to pray and find acceptance in the fact she could potentially die.

I knew that was it for me. Hundred percent. I said a prayer, I’m like, ‘I know I’m going to heaven.’ I hope my kids are OK, my husband [Kanye West]… I don’t want to cry, you’re making me cry. But it does happen really fast. It was a good seven or eight minutes of torture, but when I look back and analyze it, I’m like, ‘OK, they weren’t really aggressive.’ It could have been way worse.
Kim, you’ve seriously got this.

We wish her continued health, happiness and peace.
